What we collect

Depending on how you use the site, UMMĪ may collect information you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, mobile number, order or catering request details, and the contents of messages you send us. If you buy merchandise, checkout and payment information is handled through the commerce providers used by the site rather than being stored directly by UMMĪ on this website.

The site and the services that help it run may also receive ordinary technical information such as browser or device information, IP address, pages visited, and basic usage or security data.

What we do with it

We use information to respond to you, handle food and catering requests, provide the UMMĪ Drop List, send communications you asked for, operate and improve the site, fulfill merchandise purchases through our commerce and fulfillment providers, prevent abuse, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Email and the UMMĪ Drop List

If you join the Drop List by email, we may send UMMĪ drops, product news, and occasional hummus-related developments. You can unsubscribe using the link included in marketing emails.

Text-message privacy

If you separately opt in to food-drop texts and provide a mobile number, we use that number to send the UMMĪ text messages described below. SMS participation is optional and is not a condition of buying anything.

Service providers

We use service providers to do things a small business reasonably needs help doing—such as hosting the site, processing forms and email, delivering communications, running ecommerce checkout, processing payments, and fulfilling merchandise. They may process information as needed to provide those services on UMMĪ’s behalf and subject to their own applicable terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a legitimate business transfer.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, to maintain appropriate business records, or to meet legal obligations. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of information and why we have it.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing email through the unsubscribe link in an email. For SMS, reply STOP to cancel. You can also contact us to ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information we control, subject to legal and recordkeeping requirements.

Kids

This site and UMMĪ marketing programs are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through them.

Changes to this policy

If this page changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the effective date above. Continued use of the site after an update means the current version applies going forward.

UMMĪ SMS / Drop List Terms

By checking the SMS opt-in box and providing your mobile phone number, you agree to receive recurring text messages from UMMĪ at the number provided, including food-drop alerts when fresh hummus and other UMMĪ foods are ready, availability or pickup information, and occasional related UMMĪ updates. Messages may be sent using an automated system.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Reply STOP to cancel future marketing texts. Reply HELP for help. You may also contact lucas@ummigoodness.com for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Who we are

UMMĪ is a Fort Wayne, Indiana small-batch food and merchandise business offering Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods, local pickup and catering inquiries, and UMMĪ-branded merchandise through this website.

Food availability and requests

Fresh-food availability can change quickly. A website form, email, or text reply is a request unless UMMĪ confirms the order or pickup with you. Quantities, pickup timing, menu items, and pricing may change, and some items may sell out.

Food information

Ingredient, dietary, and allergen information is provided in good faith, but recipes and suppliers can change. If you have an allergy or dietary restriction, contact UMMĪ before ordering so we can discuss the current item. No website description should be treated as medical or nutritional advice.

Merchandise

Merchandise purchases may be processed and fulfilled by third-party commerce, payment, and print-on-demand providers. Their checkout, shipping, return, and payment terms may also apply to those purchases. Product colors and appearance can vary somewhat from what you see on a screen.

Using the site

Please use the site lawfully and don’t try to interfere with it, misuse forms, scrape or attack the service, or use UMMĪ branding or content in a way that falsely suggests affiliation or permission. Site content, branding, artwork, and product designs remain the property of their respective owners and are protected as applicable.

No promises the internet can’t keep

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but websites occasionally break, links change, and typos happen. To the extent permitted by law, the site is provided as available without guarantees that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing here limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
